Corner Post

A corner post is a slim upright filler fitted at the point where two runs of cabinets meet at 90 degrees. It is a small part with an important job: it sets the corner unit back from the adjoining run by just enough to keep every door and handle working freely.

The clearance it provides

Where a blind corner unit meets the run beside it, the two sets of doors sit very close together. Without a setback, the corner door - or its handle - would foul the neighbouring door as it opened. The corner post creates a defined gap so both doors clear each other through their full swing.

Why the gap size matters

• Thicker doors need a wider setback
• Bar and bulky handles project further and need more clearance
• Handleless and slim profiles can often run tighter

Fitting

The post is fixed between the corner unit and the adjoining cabinet before the run is finished. Once fitted, open both doors fully to confirm they clear before fixing the rest of the units in place.
