Blind Corner Unit Guide

A blind corner unit turns the corner of an L-shaped or U-shaped kitchen where two runs of cabinets meet at 90 degrees. This short guide walks you through choosing the right unit and fitting it so the doors work smoothly.

1. Plan the corner first

Start at the corner and work outwards. The blind corner unit and its clearance set the position of everything else in the run, so getting the corner right avoids problems later.

2. Allow for clearance

Part of the unit is "blind" behind the adjoining run. A corner post or filler sets the unit back so its door and the neighbouring door and handle do not clash. The gap you need depends on your door thickness and handle style - deeper handles need a wider gap.

3. Choose your access

• Fixed shelving - simple and economical
• Carousels - rotating shelves that spin the contents into reach
• Magic-corner pull-outs - bring the blind section right out to the front

4. Fit and check

Level the unit, secure it, then hang the door and open it fully alongside the neighbouring door to confirm nothing catches before you fix the rest of the run.
